The Kastrup Sea Bath designed by White Architects is a circular construction with a 870 m2 wooden deck, gradually elevates above the surface of the sea and ends in a 5 m diving platform. This sculptural dynamic form out in the water is a landmark that changes in appearance as the viewer moves around it. Functioning as a shelter form the wind the shape also creates a defined inner space. The sea bath is provided with lightning that appears dramatic and beautiful at night. The facility is open to everyone, free to use and open all year long. Kastrup Sea Bath received an honorable mention at the Architectural Review Awards for Emerging Architecture 2006 and was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Prize 2006.
